Most clients see significant improvement after 1 to 3 sessions, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. The exact number depends on your concerns, skin condition, and goals. We'll discuss a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.
Pigmented spots often darken within hours after treatment and then naturally flake off over 1 to 2 weeks — revealing clearer skin underneath. Redness and vascular concerns may take 2 to 4 weeks to show improvement. Multiple sessions produce the best, longest-lasting results.
This is completely normal and a sign the treatment is working. The light energy targets the pigment, causing it to rise to the surface where it appears darker initially — like "coffee grounds" — before naturally flaking off. Do NOT pick or scrub these areas; let them shed on their own.
Lumecca works best on lighter to medium skin tones (Fitzpatrick I to IV). It is not recommended for very dark skin tones due to the risk of pigmentation changes. If you have a deeper skin tone or recent tan, we may recommend an alternative treatment like Morpheus8 instead.
